on a whim...
In in 2009, I sat at my kitchen table with an idea of selling my handmade whims. The business name Woman On A Whim (WOAW) was created and off I went, designing jackets, clothing, aprons, and anything else my pencil could draw and heart desired.
My #1 product, The Whimzie, became something that I never dreamed of...popular. Hard to keep up and demanded by many, I decided to take a leap of faith. Soon the word "wholesale" became a part of my everyday vocabulary and my attention was diverted to this new venture.
The Whimzie was constructed from an idea my aunt had and began as "one of those things" we made and gave as gifts. Soon it was on the website, in stores, and I was sewing them day and night out of my closed-in garage.
Up until recently, I was on my own. Now, with my new wholesale line up and going, I have recruited my best friend. Amy Viertel has jumped on board with me to help grow the business, making a dream a reality. She is based out of the Waco, Texas area and can assist you as well.
We are working on bringing more products to our wholesale line. With both of us designing we hope that by June 2012, we will have more to offer. We are currently getting geared up for our permanent booth at Dallas Market, located at the World Trade Center/Gourmet Market. We will keep you posted when we have officially moved it!
